Toyons have red berries and is a bush. Some have hard leaves and others have little leaves and is a evergreen. an evergreen is a plant that always have green leaves.
Fun fact: Toyons can grow 15-18 ft tall.
Toyons can be found in chaparral,Mountains,Oak woodlands and is native to Europe but common in the USA.
Toyons are not edible. In fact the entire plant is toxic! The berries can cause pain. The tea made from the leaves is fatal. birds eat the berries but only when its dead ripe. Native Americans cooked the berries and they liked them.
Toyons are used for Christmas decorations in Europe but not in the USA because they are not evergreen.
Fun fact: toyons can live in -12 C!
The bark and leaves are used for infected wounds and to wash sores.
